HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE
We are continuing to see Avadian members targeted in vishing attempts – attempts fraud through phone calls.
Here’s how it works:
Someone will call you, claiming to be from Avadian (and maybe even “spoofing” our phone number to make you think it’s legit), and they will ask for personal information that gives them access to parts of your financial information.
Here’s what you need to know:
- If you call Avadian about something, we may ask for your account number to
verify your identity.
But we will never ask for the following information, even if we are investigating potential fraud:
- Your card number
- Your card’s expiration date
⚫ Your card’s CCV code (three–digit code on the back)
. Your online banking username
- Your online banking password
It is also important that you carefully read texts that contain a one–time password. If the text indicates that the password should never be given to anyone, hang up and call Avadian directly at 1.888.AVADIAN (1.888.282.3426) to notify us of what the caller said and how you responded to the caller.
As always, thank you for choosing Avadian.
