PISTOL PERMITS
GENERAL INFORMATION
Learning the laws regulating the use of firearms is a must for responsible ownership. Local regulations differ and laws vary from state to state. Citizens must check with the jurisdiction where the gun is to be used.
Alabama State Code provides that the Sheriff of a county shall issue a qualified or unlimited license to a person residing in the county, and is a suitable person to be licensed.
Pistol Permits must be obtained from the county sheriff of your county of residence.
Storage of firearms and ammunition presents a unique responsibility. Children may see weapons as toys, and thieves view them as a tool for crime or an item that can be sold for a quick profit. Keep all firearms locked away in a secure place.
It is the policy of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office to maintain the privacy of all individuals who hold a concealed carry firearms permit issued by the Sheriff of Houston County. Records concerning information on concealed carry firearms permits are considered confidential and are not released to the public.
