CIVIL

The Communications Division is comprised of Civilian Personnel who handle emergency and non-emergency calls for service. 

Communications Dispatches calls for service for the Sheriff’s Office, 7 Municipal Agencies, Troy University Dothan Campus Police, 17 Volunteer Fire Departments, & 5 Volunteer Rescue Squads. 

They receive all 9-1-1 calls in Houston County outside of the City of Dothan and serve as a backup for emergency calls within the City of Dothan.

They must also maintain information sent and received from the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center.​
